Pulitzer prize-winning playwright, for 'Angels in America' (1993). Author of 'Philadelphia' which was made into an Oscar-winning film starring Tom Hanks, and wrote the screenplay for the film 'Lincoln'. Recipient of the National Medal of Arts (2013).
