Description

Executive Director of the National Lesbian and Gay Task Force (1983-1985). Founded the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center, and was appointed to a number of government positions including associate deputy Secretary of Labor (1996). Served as executive deputy of the New York State Consumer Protection Board and as the vice chair of the New York State AIDS Advisory Council. She was also President of the New York State Civil Service Commission and Commissioner of the New York State Department of Civil Service. Served as the highest ranking gay individual in President Clinton's White House as assistant to the president for management and administration (1997). Active participant in the Stonewall riots of 1969. Former catholic nun.
