Transgender author, singer, songwriter, and filmmaker. Creator and writer of the new CBC series How to Fail as a Popstar, a Canadian Screen Award winner, and a Polaris Music Prize nominee. Author of several books, including 'The Subtweet' (2020), 'God Loves Hair (an illustrated collection of short stories), 'I'm Afraid of Men' (2018), 'Death Threat' (2019), and his debut novel 'She of the Mountains' (2014). Notable films include 'What I Love About Being Queer' and 'I Want to Kill Myself' (2017). Recipient of the Steinert & Ferreiro Award for leadership in Toronto’s LGBTQ community (2014). Brand ambassador for MAC Cosmetics and Pantene, and a director on the board of the Tegan and Sara Foundation.
