Description

Interior Designer and leading film actor. Starred in the films 'The Midnight Express', 'Brown of Harvard', 'Show People' and 'Tell It to the Marines'. Ranked among the top 10 box office stars in Hollywood in the mid to late 20s and early 30s. Acting career was cut short when he refused to deny he was homosexual at the request of MGM Studios, who subsequently fired him. Designed interiors for many film stars. Also designed furniture. Subject of the book 'Wisecracker: The Life and Times of William Haines'.
