Description
Clerk to the Executive Council, Queensland and member of the Queensland Legislative Council (1863-1869 and 1871-1873). Returned to England in 1876 with the Colonial Office. In 1900 was appointed Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George (GCMG). Lived with Robert George Wyndham Herbert before marrying.
