Recorded two albums of jazz standards: 'Sweet Georgia Brown' and 'Billy Tipton Plays Hi-Fi on Piano', both released in 1957 to acclaim. Born Dorothy Lucille Tipton. Subject of the book 'Suits Me: The Double Life of Billy Tipton' (1989).
