Description

Founder and President (1984-1987) of the Argentine Homosexual Community (ACH). Founded the Gays Association for Civil Rights and in 1992 he led the first Gay Pride Gay Pride march in Buenos Aires. Promoted the first civil union project and the inclusion of sexual orientation in the anti-discriminatory clause of the Constitution of the City of Buenos Aires. Author of the book 'Homosexuality in Argentina' (1987), and subject of the biography 'Pride: Carlos Jauregui, a Political Biography' (2010. A subway station in the city is named in his honour. Died of AIDS.
