Description

Transgender founder of the Gründerzeit Museum (a museum of everyday items), which became the focal point of underground homosexuals in Germany. To appease the leaders of East Germany and avoid the destruction of the museum, she agreed to become an unofficial collaborator with the secret police. Well known Drag artist. In 1992, she received the Bundesverdienstkreuz, 'Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany'. Subject of the documentary film 'I Am My Own Woman' (1995).
