Description

Aboriginal soprano opera singer, actor, playwright. Author of her autobiographical play 'White Baptist Abba Fan' detailing her experiences of coming to terms with her sexuality and racial identity whilst trying to reunite with her Aboriginal family. Also wrote the indigenous opera 'Pecan Summer'. Appeared in the 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.  A member of the stolen generation of aboriginal children taken from their parents, she is active in getting indigenous children involved in music and the arts. Appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia, 2014.
