President of Latvia since 2023, and Member of Parliament. Party affiliations include Latvian Way (1998-2004), Reform Party (2012-2014), and Unity Party (2014-). Minister of Foreign Affairs (2011-2023). Came out as gay in 2014, and re-elected in 2018, becoming the first out LGBTQ individual to be elected in Latvia. LGBTQ activist.
