Description

Grammy award-winning singer with a troubled personal life. Born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou. Started his musical career with the pop group Wham! (1981-1986). Went solo with his best-selling album 'Faith' (1987), followed by 'Listen Without Prejudice: 1' (1990). Recent original song albums include 'Patience' (2004) and 'Symphonica' (2014). Received two Grammy Awards: 1987, with Wham! for 'I Knew You Were Waiting For Me', and 1988 for 'Faith'. Has won numerous Brit Music Awards and other awards, after selling more than 100 million records during his career. His personal and professional life was presented in the documentary film 'A Different Story' (2005). He published his autobiography 'Bare' (1991).
