Description

Actor, poet, philosopher, and writer. Known for his short stories of horror, many of which are autobiographical, notably 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' (1910) and 'Alraune' (1911). Charged and arrested during the Great War as a German spy, though he was never tried on the charge. Similarly, had Nazi sympathies, but the fact he was homosexual made his sympathies short-lived. Wrote several early film scripts.
