Description

Speed skater. Most decorated woman Olympic athlete in history having won individual Gold medals in five Olympic Games. Gold medal in 3000m at 2006 Winter Olympic Games, and 1500m at 2010 Winter Olympic Games. At the 2014 Olympic Games she took home gold in the 3,000 metres and the team-pursuit event and earned silver in the 1,000 metres, 1,500 metres, and 5,000 metres. Won Olympic Gold in the 1,500m, and Silver in the 3,000m and the Team Pursuit at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. Gold medal in the 1,500m at the 2022 Olympic Games and setting an Olympic record. Youngest Dutch Olympic champion in Winter Games history. Partner is fellow skater Letitia de Jong. Bisexual.
