Professor in the Department of Rhetoric and Comparative Literature and co-director of the Program of Critical Theory, University of California, Berkeley. Philosopher and gender theorist and authority on queer scholarship and feminism. Notable for her book 'Gender Trouble' (1990). LGBTQ activist. Recipient of numerous awards and fellowships.
