Professor of Economics, University of Massachusettts Amherst and director of the Center for Public Policy and Administration. Williams Distinguished Scholar at the Williams Institute. Research interests include family policy issues and labor market discrimination based on sexual orientation, race, and gender. Author of several books on the subject, including 'The Public Professor: How To Use Your Research To Change The World' (2016), 'When Gay People Get Married: What Happens When Societies Legalize Same-Sex Marriage' (2009), and 'Money, Myths, and Change: The Economic Lives of Lesbians and Gay Men' (2001).
