Description

Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India. Practiced law for the Office of the Attorney General of India. Lawyer who fought the case in the Supreme Court to decriminalize homosexuality in 2018. Also fought the case in 2013 without success. She is the B.R. Ambedkar Research Scholar and Lecturer at Columbia Law School, New York. Has advised the United Nations Development Fund, New York and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), New York and UNICEF South Sudan on various aspects of International Human Rights Law. Writes widely for publications such as the New York Times, the Indian Express, Scroll.in and the Hindu. Partner is fellow lawyer Arundhati Katju
