Description

Professor at the Gender and Women's Studies at the University of Arizona, and is the director of the university's Institute for LGBT Studies. Has written extensively about transgenderism and queer culture. Formerly associate professor of gender studies at Indiana University-Bloomington. Has held visiting faculty positions at Harvard University, the University of California-Santa Cruz, Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, and Macquarie University in Sydney. Was the executive director of the GLBT Historical Society in San Francisco from 1999 to 2003. Lambda Literary Award winner as co-editor of the anthology 'The Transgender Studies Reader' (2006). Other books include 'Transgender History: The Root's of Today's Revolution'. Raised crowdfunding for the launch of Transgender Studies Quarterly. Transgender.
