Creative writing is the art of imaginative story telling. It requires the ability to convey the writer's unique voice, develop original ideas, present interesting characters in an interesting setting, and develop an engaging storyline. The output can be short story, narrative essay, novel, or memoir.

Creative writing programs at Colleges, Universities and other higher education institutions are very popular. LGBTQ-friendly creative writing programs may include LGBTQ literature, gender & sexuality studies, and faculty. The course curriculum and anthology will be queer inclusive.
