Film director, author, and photographer.  Notable films include 'Milk' (2008 - about slain California politician [[Harvey Milk]]), 'Good Will Hunting' (1997), and 'Elephant' (2003).  Has received many awards for his films, including the Palme d'Or at Cannes.  Author of the book 'Pink'.
