Transgender Assistant Health Secretary under President Joseph Biden since 2021. President of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials. She’s written in the past on the opioid crisis, medical marijuana, adolescent medicine, eating disorders and LGBTQ medicine.  Former Physician General for the State of Pennsylvania (2015-2020).  Formerly chief of the Division of Adolescent Medicine and Eating Disorders at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where she also served as a professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry.  Liaison for LGBT Affairs for the Penn State Hershey Office of Diversity, where she mentors and assists LGBT students, faculty and staff, and acts as faculty advisor for the university’s LGBT student group.  Member, Equality Pennsylvania.  Pediatrician.
