Washington correspondent for radio network National Public Radio (NPR), after five years as Justice Columnist.   Awards received include the American Bar Association Silver Gavel Award, the Daniel Schorr Journalism Prize, a laurel from the Columbia Journalism Review, and the American Judges Association's American Gavel Award. Was the first NPR reporter to be promoted to correspondent before age 30.  Also a singer, who has performed frequently with the group Pink Martini.
