Professor of Philosophy, University of Toronto.  Principal, University College, University of Toronto.  Formerly,  Chair of both the Department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Arts and Science, and the tri-campus graduate Department of Philosophy.  Research focuses on the history of modern philosophy and bioethics.  Master swimmer.
