Chair, LGBTQ Studies, City College of San Francisco.  Formerly instructor at Stanford University in feminist and queer studies.  Author of numerous books, including 'Queer Others in Victorian Gothic' (2012), 'Queer Monstrosities: Sexuality, Race, and Class in Victorian Gothic Horror' (2010), 'Lesbian Issues in a Global Context' (2009), and the forthcoming 'Introduction to Transgender Studies' (2017).
