Former Editor of the lesbian publication 'The Ladder', published by the Daughters of Bilitis (and writing under the pseudonym Gene Damon), and founder of Naiad Press with her partner [[Donna McBride]] (a publisher of lesbian books).  Received the Lambda Literary Award in 1991 for Publisher's Service.
