Novelist, poet, playwright, painter.   Author of books with the subject matter of sexuality that were controversial for his time.  Notable for 'Lady Chatterley's Lover' (heavily edited during its early printing), 'Sons and Lovers', and 'Women in Love'. Though married, pursued loving relationship with a number of men.
