First openly gay elected Governor of a state in the United States when he was elected Governor of the the state of Colorado (2018).  First openly LGBT parent in US Congress as the Democratic representative of the State of Colorado since 2009.  Formerly with the Colorado State Board of Education.  Former entrepreneur who founded and sold the companies bluemountain.com, ProFlowers, and American Information Systems.  One of four national chairmen of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
