Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rappler, an online news website.  Former investigative reporter with CNN news network.  Professor of Professional Practice in the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and a Distinguished Fellow at Columbia's new Institute of Global Politics since 2023.  Known for her work documenting how social media is being used to spread fake news, harass opponents and manipulate public discourse. Awarded the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for efforts to safeguard freedom of expression, which is a precondition for democracy and lasting peace.
