Noted for his work as a separatist who advocated for sovereignty of the Province of Quebec from Canada.  Helped to found and strengthen the Partis Quebecois political party.  Former journalist, La Presse and Gazette newspapers and Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.  Professor of Communications, University of Quebec (Montreal).
