Composer of contemporary, experimental music, film director, and singer.  Notable for his unique compositional and music notation, and his multimedia theatrical performances.  Noted for his opera 'L'Ispirazione' (1988).  Abstract expressionist painter.  Former artistic director of La Fenice, Venice.
