Description
Sociologist and Distinguished University Professor, University of Windsor. Noted for his ground-breaking sociological studies on LGBTQ movements cross-nationally. Activist and founder of many gay and lesbian academic associations, with a particular focus on AIDS issues. Editor and author of the books 'The Rise of a Gay and Lesbian Movement' (1987) and 'The Global Emergence of Gay and Lesbian Politics' (1998). Founding member of the Gay Caucus of the American Sociological Association.
