Description
State Senator since 2013, and former Democratic Party member of the New Hampshire State House of Representatives (2006-2012). First open LGBTQ State Senator in New Hampshire. Active in having the state adopt equal marriage rights legislation. Received the New Hampshire Citizen Alliance 2012 Legislator of the Year Award and the New Hampshire Democratic Party's 2008 Legislator of the Year Award.
