Professor of Masculinities, Sexualities and Sport at the University of Winchester, in England. High school track coach in 1993. Author of eleven books, including 'Trailblazing: The True Story of America's First Openly Gay Track Coach' (2000). LGBTQ activist for the inclusion of gay men in sport, and is considered to be America's first openly gay high-school coach. Writes extensively on gay sports and distance running, with a website for gay and lesbian athletes.
