Description

Famed writer of Maori descent, became a member of the Foreign Office and Consul General in New York. As the first published Moari novelist in history, he is also a short story writer and co-editor of an anthology of Maori writings. Latest books reflect on life as a gay person in Maori culture. Former Professor and Distinguished Creative Fellow in Maori Literature at the University of Auckland (1990-2010). Also known as Witi Ihimaera.
