Description
Figure skater, Olympic gold medalist (1972) and three-time World champion (1970, 1971, 1972). Subsequently toured for 13 years with the 'Stars on Ice' production company. Died of AIDS. In December 2000, the Slovak Republic named him Slovakian athlete of the 20th century. A figure skating trophy is awarded each year in his name in his home country. Youngest competing LGBTQ Olympian at the age of 13 in 1964.
