Description
Jazz violinist. Co-founded the Quintette du Hot Club de France, considered the first all-string jazz band, which created a new style of music, Gypsy Jazz. Considered the grandfather of jazz violinists. Received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award (1997), and a member of the Jazz Hall of Fame.
