Description
Photographer of black and white portraits, landscapes, and abstract visuals. His work often attempts to convey subtle allusions and metaphors. Noted for his grouping of photographs into Sequences. Taught at California School of Fine Arts, Rochester Institute of Technology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and other schools. Co-founder and Editor of Aperture magazine, and Editor of Image magazine (1953-1957). A major retrospective of his work, 'Minor White: Manifestation of the Spirit', was presented at the Getty Museum in 2014.
