Description
Founder of the group Somos Familia, a group of families that are leaders in protecting the health and wellbeing of the Latino LGBTQ youth by counteracting negative messages through voices of support, and promoting dialogue to end family rejection and bullying and foster a culture of acceptance and love. Founder of the School-Based Initiative for Lavender Youth Recreation and Information Center (LYRIC). Winner of the 2014 Raymond Shonholtz Visionary Peacemaker Award, given to an outstanding individual who has made or is making significant contributions to peacemaking, community building and/or anti-violence work.
