Description
Transgender fashion model, considered the first black trans model in history. Transitioned to female shortly after school graduation. Notable for her contract with Clairol, the hair-colouring company, in the mid 1970's, and her shoots with photographer Irving Penn. Her modeling career ended when she was outed during a magazine shoot in 1980. Competed in the drag-ball circuit as Tracy Africa with the House of Africa.
