Playwright, actor, film and stage director. Former Artistic Director, National Arts Centre. Artistic Director, Ex Machina. Notable film productions include 'Jesus de Montreal' (1989) and 'Stardom' (2001). Opera producer. Writer and producer for several Cirque du Soleil productions. Appointed a Companion of the Order of Canada (2009). Recipient of numerous performance awards.
