Description
First openly gay Tory peer in the House of Lords when he was appointed in 2010. Executive Director, Telegraph Media Group. Chairman of the Press Standards Board of Finance (PressBof), the body responsible for funding the Press Complaints Commission and overseeing the industry's system of self-regulation. Former councilor on the Brentwood District Council (1988-1992). Trustee of the Imperial War Museum since 2007 and was appointed a member of the Council of the Royal College of Music in 2009.
