Description

Poet who is considered a member of the Beat Generation and the San Francisco Renaissance. Became a Professor at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada for much of his life. Author of T'he Moth Poem' (1964), 'Cups' (1968), 'Syntax '(1983), and 'Nomad' (1995). Notable collections include 'The Holy Forest' (1993). Recipient of the Griffen Poetry Prize (2008), and received the Lifetime Achievement Award (2006). Recipient of the Order of Canada (2005).
