Description
Consultant. Former aide to Congresswoman Bella S. Abzug (D-NY), Coordinator of Local Government for the New York City Mayor’s Office, and Executive Director of the White House Conference on Handicapped Individuals/Implementation Unit in the Carter administration. CEO of national associations including the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Accountants for the Public Interest, National Association for Gifted Children, and the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. Founded ARTS in ACTION an organization focused on raising funds for HIV/AIDS education and care, served on the Community Board of Whitman Walker Health, and served five years as Vice-chair of the Board of Trustees of the University of the District of Columbia. Columnist for the Washington Blade and the Georgetown Dish. Author of his memoir 'Born This Gay: My Life of Activism, Politics, Travel, and Coming Out' (2024).
