Description
Champion boxer and coach. Founded the Toronto Newsgirls Boxing Club in 1996, a gym specifically women and transgender athletes. Won the Steinert & Ferreiro Award (2013, which recognizes leadership in the queer community), the Senator Nancy Ruth Award (2010, for a demonstrated commitment to women), and the Coaching Excellence Award from the Coaches Association of Ontario (2011). Author and actress in her own play 'Tale of Doohnamow' as well as performing in improvisational comedy troupes.
