Description
Noted for 'Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared Piano' (1948). Avante-garde composer, also contributed to modern dance. Turned to visual art toward the end of his career, using random syncopations in his musical compositions. Partner was acclaimed choreographer Merce Cunningham.
