Description

Road Cyclist who twice broke the world hour record, in July 1993 and April 1994, and was the individual pursuit world champion in 1993 and 1995. Established a new world record for prone bicycles in 2013. Member, Scottish Sports Hall of Fame. Life story is told in the film 'The Flying Scotsman' based on his autobiography of the same name(2003). Competed in the 1996 Olympic Games.
