Transgender physician and radiologist who pioneered the use of x-ray photography in tuberculosis detection (which at the time was the biggest killer in America) as Director of Hospitalization and Rehabilitation for the Connecticut State Tuberculosis Commission. Wrote the standard text on the subject matter. Transitioned from female to male. Author of short stories and novels. Born as Lucille Hart.
