Novelist who co-founded 'Violet Quill', the group of LGBTQ writers in New York City. Pseudonym for Eric Garber. Author of multiple best selling novels, including 'Dancer From the Dance' (1978), 'The Beauty of Men' (1996), and 'Grief: A Novel' (2006, Stonewall Book Award). Currently teaches creative writing at American University in Washington, DC
