Description
Transgender activist and popular figure in New York City's night scene. Co-founder of Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries (S.T.A.R.). Subject of the documentary film 'Pay It No Mind: The Life and Times of Marsha P. Johnson'. The East River Park in Williamsburg, Brooklyn was renamed to honor her, making it the first New York state park named for an LGBTQ person (2020).
