Description
Ballet dancer and choreographer. Director of the Berlin State Ballet from 2013 until his retirement in 2019. Former Artistic Director, National Spanish Dance Company (1990-2010), and artistic director of the ballet at the Mikhailovsky Theatre (2011-2013). Founded the National Dance Company 2 (1999). Recipient of numerous prizes and awards, including being appointed a Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (1995), and receiving Spain's Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts (1998).
