Description
Lead singer of the country music band 'Lavender Country', considered one of the first gay country music bands. Discharged from the navy in 1966 for being gay. Later became an artist and an activist with the local chapter of the Gay Liberation Front. The band's 1973 album 'Lavender Country' is considered the first openly-gay country music album. Other notable albums include 'Blackberry Rose' (2016).
